RICKY BAKERY, A KALEIDOSCOPE OF FLAVORS

Richard Alvarez Guerra, better known as "Ricky", start as an apprentice in a pastry shop and even though for a while he tried to get away from the range of gastronomy to dedicate himself to other activities, after a few years he return to stay.

The entrepreneur is now the owner of 4 successful pastry shops that operate in Miami-Dade County under the name "Ricky Bakery" and whose menu reflects the perfect combination of flavors from different nationalities, especially Latin American, that characterize this county of 2.4 million inhabitants.

Ricky's concept is to originally try to combine Cuban pastries with European and Latin American desserts such as Nicaraguan Tres Leches, Tiramisu, Señoritas, Eclear, etc. In the same way, he has innovated gastronomy in his demographics and has put his stamp on the menu with specialties such as the “Ricky” sandwich that he prepares with chorizo, cream cheese, and a special sauce, among other ingredients.

Ricky Bakery currently has its own production and manufacturing workshops to make the products it offers in all the bakeries on Bird Road and Coral Way, which operate with more than 50 employees. All this after knocking on several doors to find out which baker was selling his business, he finally managed to seal his purchase agreement for his first bakery which he affectionately calls "Ricky Bakery #1" in December 2001. In this transaction Ricky sacrificed everything, investing his savings, and becoming the first Total Bank SBA Loan Client in Miami. His participation on the Bank marketing campaign, open doors for him and gives the popularity in the business industry.

After working six years in this area of gastronomy, he wanted to do something different and a close friend convinced him to invest in a company specializing in medical billing. After two years he decided to sell the business because it was not his passion. So, he chooses to "dust off his pastry books and notes." Three years after opening his first bakery, Ricky purchased a property at 3115 SW 22nd St in December 2004. This is how Ricky Bakery #2 was born, conceived, desired, and designed by himself.

The indisputable success that Ricky Bakery has had in the Miami market is due to the quality and variety of the menu and the service they offer to customers, who not only buy cupcakes, sandwiches, and other specialties in the bakery, but also "Catering ordering options for when they go out for a walk in their boats or go to other states.”
